Shelf is a clipboard manager that runs only on your Mac. It has no account and no servers.
What the app stores
Shelf saves what you copy (text, links, images, files and colors), the app each item came from, and when. It keeps all of this in one library on your Mac at ~/Library/Application Support/Shelf. Nothing is sent to us or anyone else.
What the app skips
Copies marked as confidential, such as those from password managers, are ignored. Keychain Access, Passwords, 1Password, Bitwarden and Dashlane are excluded by default, and you can exclude any other app in Settings, Privacy.
When the app goes online
When you copy a link, Shelf can load that page's title and preview image. That request goes straight from your Mac to the website you copied. You can turn it off in Settings, Privacy, under Fetch previews for copied links.
Deleting your data
Delete items from the shelf, clear your history in Settings, Storage, or delete the Shelf folder above. Removing the app and that folder removes everything.
